We had a fun day on February 8th.

We started the day off with surprise breakfast in bed.

Kneaders French Toast is the best way to start off your day if you ask me.

Kev also had another surprise on his breakfast tray.

He got an iphone for his birthday! hooray.

Later we ate a delicious Free pork salad at Kev's favorite restaurant Cafe Rio.

We had an intramural basketball game that night....and while we were at our game my old roommates and best friends came over and decorated the house and we had a little surprise party for Mr. Kevin. Little to say he wasn't expecting it at all!

It was a wonderful day had by all.

Oh Hey!

So guess what?

I am kinda starting to try and get a little more business with all of these mad photo skills I have been learning the last four years up here at school.

And with that I figured I should probably start getting a photo blog and website up and running for when I graduate.

It's still a BIG work in progress and I only have the temporary blog up and running, but feel free to check it out from time to time. Or if you know of anyone looking to get family photo's, or portraits done send them to my blog.

This has been ~~kinda~~ really scary for me...i don't know why. But I think it is finally hitting me that i'm graduating and am going to be forced to actually start this whole photo business shindig and start growing up a little. Which is both super Scary and exciting.

Yesterday was a pretty special day.

It was Kevin Grants Birthday.

He is now officially half way to 50.

He is getting pretty old.

And you know what I kind of really love this boy.

I love that he cried when he saw me in my wedding dress for the first time. And how much love this boy somehow seems to possess. It amazes me everyday with all the little things he does for me.

We would joke when we were engaged that the only reason I was marrying him was because he was tall, wore vans, played soccer, and went to Switzerland on his mission. And of course those things were definite pluses but I secretly really love that he plays soccer...and that he lets me come play with him and his friends sometimes. I love it.

He is so good with kids and I know is going to be an amazing dad...someday...in the future. the very far future.

He loves summer and to be warm almost as much as me.

Someday we are going to go back to his mission. He is going to give me my dream of going to Switzerland. And I love him a lot for this. A lot.

He loves dogs. And it makes me sooo happy.He puts up with my random outbreaks of tears whenever I see a cute dog. I don't know what has gotten into me lately but he has put up with it really well.

He sometimes can be a dork. He blames that I brought out his weirdness since we've been married. But i know it was always inside of him.

(he'll probably kill me for putting this on here)

These photo's are about a year late.

I was just looking through my pictures on my computer and saw them...and realized I never blogged about this little extravaganza we went on to Hare Krishna.

So I thought I'd put them up cause I love them, and think they are fun.

We had a grand old time. Five of us squished in a four person car for over 2 1/2 hours. And left with plenty of chalk in our teeth to last a life time. It was a fun adventure that will hopefully happen again this year!

My sister Melissa had her baby all the way back in november...i know i'm a bit behind.

We were all so excited for her and Jason. And holy cow do they know how to make a cute baby.

Little Lillian was born on November 11, 2011.

and get this. she was born at 11:11 pm

yeah....that's right born 11-11-11 @ 11:11!

We had all joked around with Missy that she had to wait to have her at 11:11 but none of us really thought it would happen! It was crazy, they even got to be on the news.

And with how cute little lilly is....that might not be the only time she is famous and gets to be on TV.

We took these the day after Thanksgiving at her 2 week mark.

Usually at two weeks babies are still really sleepy and want to be wrapped up. Well, not this little lady. She was awake the entire time and did fabulous!

Over Fall Break Kev and I headed home to Salt Lake to have a quick vacation from our life in logan. While we were there I had the chance to take some more family pictures for my Brother and Sister's families. We took them at Jana's inlaw's house, they have the most beautiful orchard and yard, it was such a fun location for family shots.

We got a lot of good shots of Todd doing what he does best. Haha I love my brother.

It was such a fun night, I love this family so much and am so lucky to have them in my life.

Due to life being crazy the last few months I didn't get to post all the fun things that we got to do. Believe it or not we did have somewhat of a life when school wasn't over taking our lives.

This is the picture Kev and I took when we first moved in to our new little apartment that I never ever posted...so here ya go.

Kevin was on the USU soccer team this year and they had a really good year making it all the way to region.

During fall break Kevin got to take his first trip to Ikea where we bought some kitchen chairs. I also finally got to eat one of their delicious cinnamon rolls for the first time.

Also during fall break we took a drive up big cottonwood canyon and walked around Silver Lake with our friends Bryant and Amber.

It was freezing but beautiful.

we really like hanging out with them. they are cool.

Kevin also got to try the amazing Big Ben's Burger Bar for the first time!

He really liked it...and i'm really glad cause I am in love with it. So I think we will be making stops in Ogden to and from slc and logan more often now.

We had a beautiful Autumn up here in Logan. Everyday we drive down this street to get home and it felt like I was in a movie. It was beautiful!

One of my BEST friends Scott came home from his mission and I am so glad to have him home and am so so proud of him!

Our friends from above...Amber and Bryant got married down in St. George so we took a little trip down there after Thanksgiving to go to their beautiful and fun wedding! We are so happy for them!

and last but not least...Kevin is considering becoming a golfing model.

This Year My little 6 year old nephew Davy has been into creating anything and everything with paper and tape the past few months. When he found out Kevin and I didn't have a star for the top of our Christmas tree he was so worried and volunteered to make us one and some ornaments...but only if he could find enough time during the week to make them. So, the next weekend at our family party he happily walks over to me and hands me a bag filled with paper ornaments and a hand made star tree topper and said "Told ya I'd find time!" It was the cutest thing, and he was so happy to be able to help us out!

I think he might have a career ahead of him...all the ornaments are so cute and we are so glad we now have a star for the top of our tree! All thanks to Mr. Davy.

It's been awhile. A long while.

And a lot of things have happened in the last month or two.

Some parts really great and another part that I wish I could put in the VCR, rewind back to before it happened and throw that piece of film away.

This has been one of the hardest months of my life.

And I haven't really known how to write about it, that is why it has taken me so long.

I've just been in denial, and pushing it to the back of my mind, and that has been my way of handling it.

November 8, I received the worst news I ever could have imagined receiving and hope to never get a call like that that again. ever.

Gosh, I don't even know what to say about this to give what Trevor meant to me in my life the justice it deserves.

He was truly one of my very best friends. We have hung out together since the end of elementary me and the two sets of twins, but since high school and the years before his mission we got really close.
We could talk about anything and everything together. And we usually did sitting out on my front porch, well after our curfews.

He was such an amazing person, with the most clever and hilarious sense of humor.

and i'm going to miss it so much.

I am so proud of his and Scott's examples to go and serve our Lord for 2 years.
Writing Trev on his mission, I could tell there was a change in him, he loved being out in Texas and spreading the gospel to those in need of a little hope. He was there hope, and now is all of ours.

so my life has been one big stress monsoon the last few weeks, and its not clearing up anytime soon.

I think last week was one of the hardest weeks I have had in a really long time.

School this semester has been really tough on me. I don't know why.

I don't know if it is the combination of classes I am in and being newly married which is a pretty big change and just trying to fit life, school, work, church, and my family all together. It really might just kill me.

So last week I was dealing with all of this, but the hardest part was saying goodbye to Lucy.

This is my dog Lucy on the day we got her.

We became best friends from that day forward. I am the youngest in my family by a ~~few~~ 7 years, so growing up I was alone a lot of the time because my siblings were always away in college, but Lucy was always there for me everyday when I got home from school, seriously she was my best friend.

We had to put her down a week ago, and I can't believe how hard it has been on me...last weekend when I went home there was such an empty feeling not having her there anymore...and I know its going to take awhile to get over, but I am so grateful that she lived for as long as she did. I guess according to the Vet 14 years is a really long time for a Golden Retriever to live, i'm really glad she stayed around for so long.

I love you girl, and am going to miss you more than you will ever know. Thanks for a wonderful 13 years.

I am so so so so so excited to announce...

our wedding was featured on Greenapple's Photography Blog!!

This is probably only one of my biggest wishes and dreams ever!

It is so cute, I love the way Lindsey set it up and posted about our DIY wedding.

If you haven't realized yet I literally am in love with weddings. And it is so fun mine was posted because I could literally look at wedding blogs all day long, and now mine is one of those that people might look at! Oh my gosh this has been a fantastic day so far, and its only noon.

You know when its dark, rainy, and cold outside and you are laying in your warm bed and you just keep wishing time will just stop so you can stay in under your warm blankets all day long and just listen to the rain, and not have to face any of the days problems or commotion?

Well. This sadly did not come true for me this morning.

I got up, got ready for my 9:00 class. Headed out in the rain to school. And as I was crossing the street to the art building another photography student that wasn't headed to the same class I was asked me if I was going to Studio. I said yes. She then said, oh, I got a text even though I'm not in that class that your class was cancelled.

Of course everyone who isn't even in the class heard my class was cancelled, but me. So I could have stayed in bed all morning under my warm blankets and listened to the rain.....so why did I not go home after I heard and hop in bed? oh, because today is the first day i forgot my house key so I am locked out.

Oh brother, life is too funny.

It was Homecoming weekend already two weekends ago. Time is flying.

And we had a grand old time. All of the alumni from the Hillam family came up to Logan to enjoy the good ol festivites. Em and Trav and the girls even came and slept over at our house Friday night, it was a lot of fun...and our first time having people stay at our house!

This was my last year to be in the parade with the Ambassadors so everyone came out to watch...and get lots of candy.

Life and me are not doing so hot right now.

I feel like the list of things to do is never ending, and my motivation to do them is about 0.

School is beating me up this semester, and I have a feeling next semester will be exactly the same.

I never get to be home with Kev, and he has been so supportive and positive with me being up at the school til all hours of the night. He usually even surprises me with dinner or crepes when I get home.

...and i don't deserve it because I have been an ornery unhappy person the last few weeks. sometimes I just want to be 10 years old again. Life was so easy back then. growing up is hard, and sometimes almost everyday all day I could burst into tears at any second.

so now i'm going up to school to work on my never ending homework. see you maybe never again.

Well Folks....

I finally did it.

I finally made it to the State Fair. It has really been a dream of mine since I was little. I think it came from watching Charlottes Web so much with the twins.

Last Saturday Kev and I drove down to SLC to attend this blessed event that only comes once a year.

And ok....it wasn't as good as I had dreamed it up to be in my mind all these years. But, never the less it was still fun. We walked around to all the fun and weird booths, got a lot of good people watching in, saw some seals dance, spent 6 freakin bucks on a disgusting hot dog, ate funnel cake, and got to pet some goats, sheep, and cows.

It was a great night.

Kevin eating his delicious pizza and me with the worst hot dog i have ever eaten half of in my life. For real it looked like a dead man's skin. NASTY nast.

So this cow was seriously humungo. This picture does not even capture how big this thing was. Huge.

So this last saturday I got to help Ms. Kailey Jean Larsen with an amazing fundraiser.

I got to take pictures for the wacky warriors softball tournament in Taylorsville.

Wacky Warriors is an incredible organization.

Warriors Against Cancer in Kids and Young Adults

so all the proceeds went to two organizations to find a cure!

It was a long, fun, and hot day and I am so glad I got to help out.

Haley Jeanne's sister Sydnee played so I had to get some shots of her so when she is famous one day maybe they put them up in her hall of fame.

Softball players are cool. I think it would have been fun to play softball growing up. But I still like soccer better, don't get me wrong.

It is not a surprise to anyone that I absolutely adore summer. I have been dreading coming back to school because that means that summer is over...it makes me want to cry.

But, one thing that makes it easier to forget that the beautiful warm summer nights will be gone for a whole year is falls fashion.

I love it! I am getting excited to be able to wear boots, scarves and layers without wanting to die of heat stroke in the middle of the day.

Labor Day Weekend

He started his first week at the best university in Utah.

So....we may have had the longest line in the history of receptions. I think that was the only bad thing about it. Oh and that I didn't get to eat a mint brownie and we didn't take any photobooth pictures of ourselves. but thats it.

We had a little photobooth for guests to take fun pictures at. The grandkids really liked it.

My plate of food I somehow failed to put a brownie on.

It was like a dream. Seriously. A dream.

And none of it could have been done without my entire family. I just have to spill my guts for a bit, I am blessed with the most amazing, caring, talented, loving, and selfless family. My sisters put in countless hours especially Jana helping me do all of the decorations, our wedding video, spray painting the center pieces and frames, not to mention all of the hours of driving they did driving back and forth from their houses to my parents house to have little planning sessions. My brother in law Robert did our wedding video for us, David made the Lemonade table from scratch, Todd stayed at the temple with us the whole time taking back up pictures to stick in our video so we would have footage of it for the reception, and Mel made all of he bridesmaids bracelets. And of course last but not least my parents...well they are just so loving, and supportive and I am so glad the stress from this wedding didn't kill my mom. I think it got pretty close there for awhile....

But really. Don't you think my sisters need to start a freakin wedding decorating business!? I might be a little biased but I thought it turned out beautiful. They are just the best. We did our wedding a little bit different and got married+ had our wedding dinner the night before the reception. So Friday day they all slaved away getting the decorations up while Kev and I were on our honeymoonish, and then stayed long after the recep and took them all down. I am so very grateful to my family, they seriously made our wedding unreal. Kevin and I didn't want to leave the reception because it really felt like a fairy tale. It was more then i had ever dreamed of.

Cheesy?

Yes.

And I do not care.

oh it makes me sigh just thinking about it.

I would go back one million times, and never get sick of it.

So...we are now adults. We have our own apartment. We are living on our own.

We even had our first official big time real grocery shopping trip, and spent entirely too much.

Since moving up here to Logan we have gotten into a couple of habits to keep us busy of being bored.

We find ourselves staying up late at night playing Wordfeud (scrabble) against each other on our phones.

I am determined to beat Kevin at at least one stinkin game.

We almost got attacked by our neighbors devil dogs while we were longboarding one night, luckily Kevin is very brave and can scare them away from biting me.

We have a fun little park by our house with tons of grass, sand volleyball, swings and a river.

We go on walks around the Island. It is so beautiful and there are a ton of trees. Sometimes we pretend like we are living in Boston.

We have already watched seasons 2 & 3 of the Office. Hilarious. Now that we don't have anymore seasons to watch I don't know what we will do with our time.

We made a batch of cookies and the dough lasted us throughout a whole week. Which led to a lot of late night snacking on homemade warm cookies.

Our apartment is extremely hot during the day, so what better way to cool off then making milk shakes? So of course thats exactly what we've done.

We are in a family ward, with a lot of fun young couples. I'm excited for it.

And we have become addicted to Chili's Chips and Salsa with Ranch. Delish.

A lot of bad habits might be in the making, but i'm taking a Power Yoga class to work all of

this bad food off.

Bridal/Groomals

For our Bridals I really really wanted to go up to Park City and get our pictures done with the pretty green rolling hills behind us, so, we were all set and scheduled to go. And then one ~~slight~~ kind of really big thing happened with my dress. The lady we took it to to get altered and to change the neckline ~~kind of~~ butchered it, and then also made it 3 inches to short. So....it set us back a lot, we ended up taking it to Mary's Bridal in Holaday and the seamstress Mayrna is a miracle worker. She was able to fix my dress somehow. I still don't know how she did it....it was a mess, just believe me on that one. So Lindsey our photographer ended up having to take our pictures the week of our wedding and had to rush to get them edited and printed for us, but she did it and they turned out beautiful!!!! (at least I think so!)

We went to Garden Park Ward Monday morning and had gorgeous light, we were soooo lucky!

(Don't tell anyone, but Kev might of shed a few tears when he saw me for the first time. I really really like that boy)

Our Engagements

So, I am going to start from the beginning. This is my journal and I want these on here for me, but if you happen to like looking at pictures as much as I do then feel free to look. Look on.

We got engagements taken in that super crappy part of the year when it was crazy insane weather all the time. Yeah, remember that? So the day was overcast and pretty ugly, but it did not rain on us. And we were very grateful.

I really really wanted to have tree swing in some of the pictures but we had no clue where to find one....I asked Lindsey our photographer and we googled and googled and we had absolutely no luck. We ended up deciding to go up to This is the Place for our engagements and as we were there guess what we found?! A swing! I was so happy I wanted to pass out. It was meant to be.

So even though the weather and sky weren't picture perfect and we forgot the strings to the kites so we had to improvise.....I was pretty darn happy with how they turned out.

So I had a birthday.

I turned 21 a few weeks ago.

I am officially an adult now. yay?

I got to go to lunch with my family to training table. Delicious.

And Kev took me for a fun night to NYPD pizzeria (thanks Todd &Mel) and Boondocks for some sweet mini golf

We topped the night off with some longboarding, and finding out my dad was getting called as the new bishop in our ward. It was a very eventful and great day!

After we left California Thursday we drove to St. George but of course stopped in Las Vegas on the way. I don't like Vegas so I'm glad it was just for a few hours :)

We stayed with Kevs friends Brandon and Elyssa Caplain in their cute little condo and played games all night long...literally. It was a lot of fun.

The next day we met up with my fam at the house we rented, we went swimming in its pool, went to dinner at the super cute and delicious 25 Main, then off to see Tuacahn's Little Mermaid.

Saturday we went cliff jumping at Sand Hollow with a few of my brother inlaws, it was tons of fun and so warm. I love swimming in St. George.

(and I cannot get this dang picture to move to the center, so its staying here lookin ugly)

It was a fantastic honeymoon that we desperately needed. And has now convinced Kev and I that we are moving to California someday. Until then...

Honeymoon. Part 2

Our second day we went to Newport Beach it was a little bit overcast but still a ton of fun.We ended meeting up with my sister and her little family who were on vacation that week too.

We rented boogie boards from one of the beach shops and they were so fun!

It was my first time ever going Boogie Boarding and it definitely made swimming in the ocean 10 times better. It made me want to be a surfer.

Shalece loved catching sand crabs in the sand after the waves would wash away. I thought they were gross.

Honeymoon. Part 1

So...Our honey moon was a little bit untradional. First of all we waited 2 weeks to go on it, then spent a half day with my sister and her little family at the beach in california, and then while we were coming home we stopped in St. George and had a family vacation with my family....a little different then normal? Yes.

But it turned out perfect.

So, here is a really rough breakdown of our honeymoon to wonderful Cali...in three parts.

Our First night we went to the always fun Downtown Disney to get our feel of Disneyland while we were in Cali. It was fun to show Kevin around cause he had never been before. We ate some Mexican food, bought churros, shopped around and watched the Disneyland firework show.
I sure love that place.

The next day we went to Huntington beach. It was so warm! We laid out got a little sun burned, I got pooped on by a bird, walked around the shops, and of course took some pics.

There was a little street fair going on at Huntington beach, so we got to walk around the fun tents and shop.

That night we went to Santa Monica Pier. We rode on the Ferris Wheel, walked around the fun outdoor mall, and ate at delicious Johnny Rockets.

So a group of us were lucky enough to be invited to Ririe Idaho the weekend of Kaite's farewell to spend time with Katie Jo and the Parker family before Katie left on her mission to Guatemala.

We had a blast, and the parker family were great hosts as always. We got to go boating at Ririe Dam (It was the first time I have ever gone tubing and it scared the crap out of me-and made me sore for days!), ate delicious greasy Big Jud hamburgers, enjoyed beautiful scenery, played glow in the dark volleyball, and listened to the amazing Katie Jo give her farewell speech at church.

She did such an amazing job and is going to be a Fantastic missionary.

We love and are are going to miss you Sister Katie Jo Parker.

the summer internship experience. story 1.

So.....I haven't written about my internship very much...ok at all.

And it has been a pretty freakin awesome experience so far. I have been learning a lot, I work with some pretty awesome and fun people, and its down town so the atmosphere is fun and I'm learning how to get around in that craziness of a city better.

Come to find out, Busath is a pretty famous name in the state of Utah and they have taken pictures of some pretty amazing and famous people....if the name Thomas S. Monson rings a bell then you know what i'm talking about.

But, to get to my story. The other day I was assisting Drake the head photographer. When I was going into work I knew we were doing a location shot...but wasn't sure what it was. I got to work and found out we were taking pictures of a lady named Gail Miller....and dummy me thought oh ok pictures of some lady.

Everyone. this was not just some lady. This was Gail Miller....as in formerly married to Larry H. Miller, owner of the Jazz and one of the most recognized names in Utah.

And here is the real kicker. We were going to her house!

Yes ladies and Gents. I got to go take pictures in Larry H. Millers Castle, I mean home. I also got to hold and pet his cat named Henry. He was the funniest most friendly cat I have ever seen.

It was a pretty dang cool experience. I have kinda liked this internship just a little. I just wish they paid me.

So I pretty much go to the coolest school ever.
There are tons of traditions that go throughout the year, and this one just started this year.
During finals week both semesters, there was a silent impromptu dance party.
In order to be a part of it.
You need: An ipod, sweet moves, and no dignity.

It was so fun, and people looked at us like we were crazy. and the best part of it was....we didn't care.
I love Utah State.

He bought me a longboard, so now we can be cool and go together.

It hasn't felt like summer one bit around here, and i'm not just talking about the rain.

My internship has been a lot more work then I expected but I am learning a ton, so that is pretty darn exciting.

Do you ever feel like the days aren't long enough for what you have to get done? That is how it has been the last 3 weeks. I still haven't unpacked my room, so I have been living in a room full of mountains and mountains of stuff. It makes getting dressed in the morning very difficult cause I can't ever find anything.

Lady Gaga is crazy.

Today is pretty much my first day off after working six days last week, my body is not used to that. And Kevin is getting to see the tired Ashley very well these days.

I got really good grades last semester and still can't believe it.

It has been insanely hard to find wedding clothes in mustard yellow, turquoise and coral...actually nearly impossible especially mustard yellow which makes me want to cry.

I want to go to California and get tan.

and here is the biggest shocker of the day. look at this.

Daniel Radcliffe or Mr Harry James Potter can sing and dance. Who freakin knew??????

well....its official.

school is now over. thank you.

and I no longer live in logan.

Last week was one of the hardest weeks I have been through in a long while.

Filled with hours of my final photo project, few hours of sleep, and many emotions.

My three years living up at school on my own has taught me that I do not deal with change very well. Which surprised me...I always thought I loved change until I found out I don't, and i do not deal with it very well.

Change makes me cry. So this last weekend i cried a lot. Why?

Because I had to move away from these girls:
It is the weirdest feeling.

There are really no words to describe how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to live with these six amazing ladies the last 2 and some 3 years.

We have become sisters, and all get along incredibly well. I think there are only a handful of times that I can think of where we even disagreed about something. And that is saying something...cause i'm not sure that happens to often when 7 girls live together in one house.

I love you girls so much and am going to miss all of our late night conversations and playing tetris til all hours of the morning. Thank you for your amazing examples and for letting me be your friend...seriously though I am so so grateful for it.

Even though change is hard for me, I am so excited for where life is taking me. It is kind of scary but I couldn't have picked a more amazing person to share it with. Thanks Kev for all your help moving me out, and for putting up with my random outbreaks of tears.

.Walking around UofU's huge campus, and not making it to any of my photo exhibits for myclass.

.Going to Water for Elephants with Missy, Jason and my handsome fiance.

Which by the way, I definitely recommend.

.Kevin being an amazing man and getting his brothers old Play station so he could see me revert back to being a child.

It was a good weekend.

Now its back to reality.

This year St. Patrick's Day might have been my best St. Patricks Day yet.

No not because I found a real leprechaun.

Because I got to witness a Guinness World Record take place.

Utah State is pretty darn cool.

Our Physics department dropped 20,000 Bouncy Balls from a Helicopter!

Yes my friends. I said it.

20,000 bouncy balls.

This crazy phenomenon cause my roommates and I to revert back to our 9 year old selves.

We were running around throwing frisbees, getting in peoples pictures, yelling random craziness.

And Laura and Kailey started an extreme yo-yoing team.

The Sun was Shining and it was a beautiful day.

And

I finally got to see the green laser!!!!!

I was walking on campus last night after doing some homework,

I looked up into the sky and there it was.

I have waited all three years to see the laser beam in the sky and I finally saw it.

It made me smile all the way across campus.

She will be serving in the Guatemala, Guatemala City Mission speaking Spanish!

She leaves June 29....one day before the wedding :(

But we are all so excited for her!

This year has brought many many changes to the Ivy House.

3 of us will be gone next year...

I think we are all starting to realize it.

We have been staying up later to have little girl talk sessions like we used to

when we were young freshies and sophomores.

I can't believe how fast these three years have gone by.

We are going to be seniors in college next year.

Today Roberto was up at USU for the Career Fair.

Luckily my MWF schedule is really easy and I only have 2 classes.

So something pretty spectacular happened the night of February 12, 2011.

something happened to me that every girl hopes and dreams will happen to her sometime in her life.

A really cute bot asked me to marry him.

and I said YES.

If someone told me I was going to marry Kevin Young 5 years ago I would not believe them.

Nope I would not.

So you are dying to hear the story right??

Right....

Well Saturday night I drove to Salt Lake.

Kev and I had planned on having a little low key date night where we would make a little dinner, exchange Vday gifts, and then whatever we felt like next..nothing to big.

I had a hunch that it might happen this weekend....but Kev is a big lie face and kept telling me he didn't have a ring, and that we should go look a few more places and if we couldn't find the one we wanted he would custome make one and surprise me with the design. Throughout the week I kept wondering with some of the things he would say if this had anything to do with him proposing...but then I would convince myself that it was probably just me fabricating it all in my head because I wanted him to ask me so badly...hahah I could be a detective I am that good. So after the entire ride down to SLC thinking about how I should react if it happened tonight and little hints I could look for to know if it was going to happen that night or not I finally get home.

Kev knocks at my door. I open it up and to see his handsome face and a nice button down shirt I never have seen him wear before...hint number 1. Then being the observant person that I am I notice he is holding a little white box in his hands.....

I avoid looking at that little white box with every fiber of my being. He then goes on to say that he is super excited to give me my valentines present and can't wait for me to open it. He then hands me the little white box. By this time I am freaking out just a bit..I asked kev what it was and was being very hesitant to open it. He told me it wasn't what I thought it was, it ended up being a cute little pair of Pearl earrings. He explained how he got a super good deal at Sierra West a few weeks ago because the guy really wanted him to get something since he wasn't going to get a ring from them....at this point I am relieved but kind of really bummed because I knew that meant he wasn't proposing tonight and that I had made up all those little signs in my head.

We go to the kitchen, he opens up his gift, we talk about dinner and what we should make and while I am asking my mom on the phone about a recipe he tells me he forgot his phone out in his car...

He comes back from the car holding a little black book. So of course I ask what it is. He tells me to come to the living room, sits me on the couch and hands me the mysterious black book and says to read it outloud...

By this point I was just confused because he gave me the earrings already...that meant he wasn't proposing tonight.

I proceed to open the book and there is a picture of kevkevs face and it starts out into a little poem story of how we met and started dating....

To make a long story short he ended up proposing to me at the end of the story and pulled out a beautiful ring that I was deathly scared of looking at. But when I did I fell in love...not with kevin, the ring.

It was my dream ring! I had been day dreaming a bout a ring like this since I saw a pretty picture of one on a photo blog. My dreams came crashing down when a sales lady at one of the many ring stores we went to told me it made my finger look fat. I was crushed. So we started looking at more traditional rings after that.

When he put the ring on my finger I was so shocked that it was the wide band ring it almost didn't make sense, I couldn't wrap my brain around it. It is so beautiful and unique he did such a good job picking it out!

Anyways after about an hour of just the two of us talking we decided we should probably let some people know of our exciting news. We called my parents and went to see kevs parents.

After visiting with them we were famished remember at the beginging of the story we were supposed to make dinner? Well we never did. So we decided to go to Johnny Carinos. This was the place we went to on our very first date. They were so nice to us and all the waitresses kept coming over and telling us congratulations, asking to see me ring, and our waiter even gave us free dessert.

It was delicious.

And neither of us could stop smiling. Getting engaged is fun.

I recommend it for all.

Its insane to think that I have been engaged for a week and two days. I don't feel old enough for this craziness. But I am so insanely happy and I couldn't ask for a better fiance.

June 30 is the day.

Yesterday was kind of crazy and I didn't have time to write this.
But it was sort of a special day.

This boy Kevin Grant Young turned 24.

I can't believe it.
Its not very often that the boy you had a major crush on but was entirely out of your league your whole life..ends up asking you on a date...

I thought all my dreams had come true the night of our first date.
I was content because I got to go on a date with THE Kevin Young.

and then to my surprise and I still don't know why to this day.
He kept asking me on dates.

He is just so amazing and I am so grateful to have him in my life.

I'm so glad he gave me a chance, cause I think he is just great.

Once upon a time.
A boy and a girl both rode the bus to school.
They went to an Elementary called Twin Peaks.
It was an elementary far from their house, pretty much only cool kids got to attend this school.
(or our parents were just nice and sent us there to keep the attendance numbers up so the didn't shut the school down)
The boy was smart, funny and popular and in fourth grade.
The girl was kind of shy didn't know many people because all the kids she went to kindergarten went to a school called Fox Hills. She was in first grade.
The girl sat in the front with her friend Jordan.
The boy being popular sat in the back of the bus where only the cool kids got to sit.
After two marvelous years the parents of the girl had her transfer back to the school in her area called Fox Hills.
And the boy kept attending Twin Peaks.
Many years later this boy and girl revisited this school and talked of there many memories involving it.
For some reason the big magical place was a lot smaller then what was remembered from many years ago.
You see this cool fourth grade boy eventually took pity on the small shy first grade girl and now lets her hold his hand from time to time.

She is one lucky girl.

Kevin and I had the same first grade teacher Mrs. Keotter. She was the best. She taught us how to spell. Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
Its rumored to be the longest word in the dictionary. And we were only in the first grade. yeah.

I have had a very productive day since that last post.

I am so proud of myself right now.

Woke up and went to my 8:30 class.

Went to the admissions office and did my office hour.

I got a new windshield for the Bu.

Then took it and got inspections done.

Good job Buick.

While I was waiting for the car to get done, I went over to Walmart.

Got some groceries.

Then Hobby Lobby to buy a book for a photo journal for my class.

Came home ate a healthy lunch, staightened up my room, and confirmed my Follow Up Visit for Friday.

Now I have to walk up the horrid hill to my last class.

Late classes stink by the way.

Who wants to come out of class and walk home in the dark?

I don't.

Sometimes I really feel like blogging. But I don't know what to write.

Because nothing in my life feels that exciting right now...

Kristen my sister is at the hospital in labor so that means baby number

trece in the Hillam clan is on its way. So that is actually something very

exciting.

I did pretty well in my photo critique on tuesday.

Remember when I was really sad cause my best friend Steph moved to the Philippines?

Well she is back! And I am so glad!

My room looks like a tornado came through and stayed for awhile.

It's offically been 7 months...today.

I dyed my hair brown recently. Thats a pretty fun change.

Its Valentines season...and the only good thing that comes with this

is JuJu hearts. They make my stomach happy.

I need a new job.

I also need to start building up my portfolio and get experience with portraits

so if anyone has life aspirations to be a model, give me a call. I can't really pay you

but I could give you a high five or a cookie...take your pick.

I have an itching to go to a concert real real bad.

I miss the warm weather.

And lately I have been craving Pace popcicles like its my job

So the first two years that Kevin was home from his mission he had the amazing opportunity to go to Dixie and play on their soccer team.

He is an amazing soccer player...thats pretty much the only reason I like him.

The second he moved back from St. George this summer he wanted to go back.
I remember him talking about it on our first date.
So...this Christmas break he finally got to do it.
I had the week after Christmas off of work, so we took a two day little road trip down to the land of warm.
We got to stay with the Greens-Kevs second family who he lived with his

second year down there.
It was so fun to visit with them, and to see kevin in his element.

Monday:

We saw Tangled, ate at the cutest little Cafe and Cake Parlor-

Twenty Five Main.
Its my new love. I want to make it a tradition to go there everytime i visit St. George.

I'm so mad we didn't take any pictures of it.
We hiked up to Dixie Rock.
Suzanne made Kevin his favorite meal, and we played a little Kinect with Bryant and Amber.

Tuesday:

I slept in entirely too long.

We played card games.

Ate a grape glacier at delicious Frostop.

Went shopping at the Hall (Mall)
Then stopped at the one and only Nielsons Frozen Yogurt.
Kev always talks about this place so we couldn't leave St. George without stopping here.
I'm so glad we finally got to go. It was fun to see all the places Kev always talks about and hear all of his stories while we were down there.

Then we headed back to the freezing-ness of salt lake.

For New Years this year we were lucky enough to get invited to Katie Jo's Cabin up in Tetonia, Idaho.
It was such a fun trip.

I want to go back.
Look how gorgeous it was.

We went snowmobiling (my first time ever), sledding, ate delicious food, watched a lot of movies, and played a ton of games.

The Holidays have been splendid thus far.

Kev and I went and enjoyed the lights on temple square with all my friends.

Our annual Family Christmas Eve party was held on the 23rd this year.

We decorated Gingerbread houses, opened up presents, and ate Chinese Food.

Christmas Eve was filled with fun at the Youngs house. We then created some late night memories...Missy, Jason, Mom, Dad, Kev and I all stayed up til about 3:30 wrapping presents and watching White Christmas. Very enjoyable and filled with tired laughter.

Christmas morning was very festive, we opened gifts, stockings, and ate a delicious Christmas Breakfast.

Lucy got a new bed for her present....needless to say...

She Loves It.

I've been going to do a post on this song forever and this weekend definitely solidified the idea. Kevin is the nicest boy ever.
He agreed to watch The Last Song with me this weekend.
I love that movie. Its cheesy, has Miley Cyrus in it, and is a total chick flick.
Judge me if you may.

But really though, don't you love the movies that no matter how many times you watch them still make you laugh or in this case cry?

I do.
This has become one of those movies for me. Every time without fail I tear up.
It has also won my heart over with its fantastic soundtrack. (thank you emily for giving it to me)

The So You Think You Can Dance Tour

has kind of become a tradition for my sisters and I the last 3 years.

I love it!!!

It was so much fun!!

We went out to eat before and then to the tour.

They did such a good job and there were some amazing dances this year.

Kent is hands down my favorite though.

He is such an amazing and talented dancer.

It made me miss dancing. a lot.

I hope we keep this tradition going for years to come!

Cause I sure like it a whole lot.

I'm ready for Thanksgiving Break.
I don't think I have ever been more ready for a break in my life.

I got rear ended yesterday. It was a pleasant surprise to my already very stressful day. It made for a very teary me all day long with one big head ache. The kind that throbs behind your eyes.

All four of my final projects have been assigned this week. Thinking about all of them stresses me out.

My friend made me a feel good mix cd. And I love her for it. It was so thoughtful and made my day on Tuesday. I need to do stuff like this for people more often.

Sometimes I hate living so far away from my family.
Cause I miss them.

But one thing that makes me happy is in one week and 12ish hours I will be watching Harry Potter 7 Part 1.
That will be fun.

I've been loving the weather here in little Logan.
It makes me sad this is probably one of the last weeks
its going to be like this.

It has seriously been one of the prettiest falls I have
ever experienced. Each week I think oh man this is
probably the last week the leaves will be pretty...but no.
Mother Nature is putting on a show and I am not complaining.
I Love it.

Events of the last week.

As you can tell. We sometimes get bored and have to think of things to entertain our poor bored souls.

Homecoming weekend was spectacular.
Word on the street is my true aggie status has changed.

:)

My sisters also came up for the homecoming game and other festivities.
To our surprise we ended up all leaving the game early due to
excessive amounts of rain fall that soaked us to our skibbies.

It sure made for a fun adventure though.

One of my favorite parts of the fall is eating carmel apples.

They are delicious.

Carmeled Apples always remind me of a certain person.

My grandpa Startup.

His candy company would make them and they were probably the best I have ever eaten.

I always loved halloween time cause it meant we would be getting carmeled apples from him.

Two years ago my grandpa passed away and this month he would have turned 92. I can't believe how fast its gone by.

I love my grandparents so much...they have always been such amazing examples to me of love and service.

This month a couple of my sisters have blogged about my grandparents and it has just made me realize how much I miss my grandpa.

Especially this time of year.

I know my grandma misses him so much. She is such a trooper.

Kev got to come up friday night and it was just lovely.
We went to a corn maze, carved some pumpkins, laid in a hammock that was up in a tree. Then sat by the warm cozy fire.

These days I pretty much live for the weekends.
Because weekends=Hanging out with Kevin.

I kinda like this boy.

a lot.

and it stinks that we live 82 miles away from each other.

As you can see from the pictures above he is a pretty funny boy.
And I miss him.

Sometimes when I see cute couples on campus holding hands I have to restrain myself from chucking my shoe at them. They don't know how lucky they have it.
Little poop heads.

Anyways.

(I wrote this beginning part a couple weeks ago. Please forgive me as I am to lazy to change it)

Sometimes I forget how much I love fall.
Today amidst my craziness I was out taking pictures for an assignment when Grandma G. came outside. While talking to her she said that the girls and I must go and pick the peaches from our little peach tree in the backyard. She said she already picked the ones on her side and that if we didn't pick them soon she would come get the rest.
Yesterday she turned 95.
Talk about amazing.

Good work little Peach Tree. Your peaches were delightful.

Not to mention the good pictures you gave me for my digital class.

This weekend is fall break.

Fall Break makes me want to bake cookies. Wrap up in a blanket. Turn on some warm melodies. And read a good book.

Hopefully after coming up with a stellar idea for my killer midterm assignment I will get a chance to do this....it feels like it will never end.

Life and school are getting rather crazy.

This is why I was dreading school beginning.

This year in Ambassadors I am privileged to say I am a

UA.

(University Ambassador)

Being a UA is the greatest.

What are the responsibilities of a UA you ask?

Well...we give campus tours to incoming freshmen and transfer students.

I love being able to share my "Aggimony" with student prospects every

Friday morning at 10:15.

This is our group of UA's this year...it is mighty fine if I do say so myself.

My Mother and Father were able to come up to Family day for our ward on Sunday. It was fun to have them up here, it was my moms first time seeing the little old house.
Here she is in all of her glory. The Ivy House.
My Mother brought up delicious crock pot roast. They also brought my six bags of groceries. I love parents. Especially mine. Thank you for not letting me starve.

This last weekend we also had the privilege of going to Kevin Millers wedding.

After the wedding we all went out and had a fun night on the town. We went to Boondocks all dressed up and played a little game of Mini Golf.
I'm sad to report no pictures were taken of this momentous occasion.
Trust me I have been regretting this decision all week long.

On Wednesday I had my high school tour at KHS.
It went pretty well!
While I was home I got to hang out with Mr. Kevin Young.
Due to inclement weather we weren't able to go on a hike which was previously planned.
Instead we went downtown to the Church History Museum.
We also saw the new temple model in the visitors center
and ate a delicious meal of Olive Garden.
All in all it was a wonderful day.
Until I had to say goodbye to a certain individual.
That seems to be getting harder and harder these days.
It's pretty poopy.

This Weekend my family all went to the Lion King at Capitol Theater.
Holy Hannah! It was amazing.

Holy Moly August has rushed by far too quickly. Where has the time gone! I didn't want this week to come.

The Last Week of Summer.

I have made up my mind already...it is going to be a superb last week filled with fun, work, friends, retreat, and maybe even a new little addition to the family.

I would be perfectly happy if 11 months of the year were summer, and december was the only month it got cold.

I had a fantastic 20th birthday. I can't believe I am not a teenager anymore. I use to think about being this old when I was little and didn't think it would ever come.

Guess what?

It came.

I had a splendid day filled with many birthday wishes. I started it off playing with sparklers in the backyard next to a cute boy, then ate delicious Leatherby's with some of my favorite people in the world, went swimming at the lovely Hoyal residence with more of my favorite people, then ended the night at the Cabin with all of my friends.

It was a lovely day.
